Bemidji Republican Endorsing Convention

Two Bemidji-area Republicans face each other tonight at the House District 4A endorsing convention. 26-year old Tony Williams is a clerk in furniture store. 55-year old John Carlson owns an insurance agency. The winner of the endorsement will face the chosen Democrat candidate. Township supervisor John Pursill has announced he wants to run to replace Democrat incumbent Frank Moe who decided not to run for a third term. DFLers will hold candidate forums in Deer River and Bemidji today and Cass Lake on Thursday in case other candidates decide they want to run too. The DFL endorsement convention is on May 31st.
