Bemidji's Carlson Wins Endorsement In District 4A

Minnesota House District 4A delegates have endorsed 55-year old John Carlson to run for state representative this fall. Carlson owns an insurance agency and has been involved in the Bemidji community for decades. Carlson said this is his first time running for state office. The insurance executive said he believes if you complain about government and aren't willing to stand up and serve, you should stop complaining. Carlson will run against the endorsed Democrat candidate. DFLers will hold a community meeting on Thursday to see if there are others who would like to run. Township Supervisor John Pursill has said he would like to try again. Pursill lost to incumbent State Representative Frank Moe who decided last month not to run for a third term.
