Highway Speeds Remain Down

The State Patrol says speed has been down on state highways, as motorists conserve expensive fuel. Sergent Curt Mowers of the Brainerd office says, despite recent declines in the price of gas, speed remains down. He says they are in the middle of the HEAT project (Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic). And, he says, other than the occasional zoomer, they are having difficulty finding speeders. Another benefit of reduced speeds, has been fewer fatalities.
