Outdoor Programs for the Kids

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is offering programs to get young people involved in the outdoors. Hunting and Angling Program Coordinator Mike Kurre says concern about childhood obesity, environmental understanding and future leadership have prompted the need for the program. He tells KLKS News, hunting numbers are moving in the wrong direction. Kurre says there are some hunting opportunities this fall, but the deadline for the lottery to participate is August 15th. More information can be found on the DNR website.
