Klobuchar Pushed Energy Security

Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar says Congress must act to develop new technologies that will promote energy security and independence while creating new jobs and businesses. Klobuchar's statement comes as the unemployment rate in Minnesota jumped to 6.2 percent, the highest in over 20 years. Earlier this week Klobuchar called on the Administration to release 70 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve as gas prices across the country fluctuate in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike. Klobuchar says the Minnesota economy would benefit by investing in homegrown sources of energy like wind, solar and biomass.
