Charges Against Benjamin Revealed

Melanie Benjamin was sacked as Chief Executive of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe for allegedly using tribal money to remodel her home. The band's Solicitor General, Rjay Brunkow, says an investigation revealed she had spent $21-thousand for the work. Also, Benjamin is accused of giving herself at a High-Roller card that she used for $52-thousand in comps at the tribe's casinos. Benjamin, who began her third term in July, denies any wrongdoing.
