State Lawmakers Hear Local Concerns about Water Quality

The Pine River Watershed Alliance pressed the Minnesota Senate Environment and Natural Resources Committee to develop countywide water quality monitoring programs, and educate the public about the sources and impacts of phosphorus on our states waters. In testimony at the state capital last week, spokesman Darell Swanson told lawmakers 40% of Minnesota waters are not in compliance with the standards of the Federal Clean Water Act.
