Tea Party at Kiwanis Park

Estimates of up to 500 hundred attended the local tax day Tea Party at Kiwanis Park in Brainerd Wednesday. The protesters were upset with federal spending. As a symbolic gesture, the protesters were invited to throw tea bags into Boom Lake.

The event was billed as non-partisan, however, most who spoke were republicans. Former Republican State Representative Dale Walz says if he had his way, he would start the cuts with top heavy federal agencies.

The Brainerd Protest was one of hundreds held across the country on tax deadline day yesterday.
