Teacher Killed in Crash

Melissa Wooden, age 30, of Little Falls was killed in a two-vehicle crash at the junction of Highway 371 and Crow Wing County road #48, early Friday morning. Her vehicle was struck by a Suburban and then struck a semaphore, after Wooden failed to yield for a red light, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The deaf artist and high school American Sign Language teacher was on her way to school when the accident occured. Driver of the other vehicle was identified as 47-year old Kip L. Dixon of Brainerd. His injuries were described as non-life threatening, according to the State Patrol
