Donating to Haiti

Brainerd area people who wish to aid those in earthquake stricken Haiti may do so by making a contribution to the Christian based organization Feed My Starving Children.

Spokeswoman Christine Hallenbeck tells KLKS News, they have a million prepackaged meals on the island now, and another million on the way. She says each meal costs 17 cents to produce.

Hallenbeck says a Mobile Pack event will be held on the Staples campus of Central Lakes College February 6th and 7th. It is an opportunity for volunteers to package the meals. She says it is a powerful hands-on effort to touch children in other parts of the world.
