Area Burning Restrictions

Its spring clean-up time both in and outside of the house. Which means, folks will be outside raking and possibly burning the debris. Because their is no snow cover, burning permits are required, according to Brainerd DNR Forester Mark Mortensen.

Permits will be issued by Fire Wardens until Monday. At that time burning restrictions will go into effect. Any permits will only be issued by area foresters and only on a case-by case basis.

Mortensen recommends mulching and composting as much a possible
