Brainerd Airport Gets Federal Improvement

The Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport is in line for $1.4 million in federal money.  The funds will be used to extend the runway and taxiway.

Congressman Jim Oberstar says the grant was part of a $3 million package for airports in Cook and Brainerd.

The 8th District DFL-ere says airports are job generators in rural communities.  He says they bring in tourism, allow for business travel and make it possible for Minnesota products to reach far away markets. This is a good investment for taxpayers because it makes our economy more competitive in the long run.
