Dahl Says Know Where You Are Hunting

It is the obligation of hunters to know if they are on private land, and to get permission to avoid trespassing, according to Crow Wing County Sheriff Todd Dahl.

Dahl tells KLKS news, there are maps available that indicate where property lines are.

Dahl says just because a no trespassing or no hunting signed is not visible, does not give hunters permission to cross on to private land.

Sheriff Dahl says hunters must also know what is down range from any deer they may see.  He says it is likely any round fired will pass through the animal and could strike something or someone on the other side.
