Ward Urges Local Control on Salary Issues

State Representative John Ward says there may have to be a freeze of Minnesota school workers salaries to offset decreased funding.  However, he says that decision should be made locally, and not by the state.

Ward, a former educator, says Republicans generally support local determination.  He tells KLKS News, he is surprised they want to have it both ways on this issue.

Ward says a bill has already be introduced in the State House that cuts significantly into higher education, health and human services and local government aid.  He says if it is signed into law it will result in higher college tuition and will effect veterans, small business, working families and seniors
