MPCA Wants to Remove Brainerd Sites From Superfund Cleanup

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is proposing to remove three area sites from the state Superfund cleanup list.  The sites include the Former Brainerd Dump in Baxter, the Burlington Northern Car Shops in Brainerd, and the Westling Manufacturing Company in Princeton. 

Superfund sites are periodically removed from the list when they are cleaned up to the point where they no longer pose a threat to public health or the environment.  The MPCA is seeking public comments about this action through March 30.
