Business and Click it or Ticket

The Crow Wing County Passenger Safety Coalition will be working with  local businesses in promoting seat belt safety.

The CWCPS says the odds for injury in a crash are six-times greater if a motorist is not buckled up.

Brainerd Police Chief Corky McQuiston says they are constantly looking for methods to achieve more compliance with the seatbelt and child restraint laws.

Drivers and all passengers must be buckled up or in the correct child restraint. A seat belt fine can be more than $100. Unbelted deaths and injuries cost Minnesota $366 million annually in health care costs, emergency response, lost productivity and more, according to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety and the National Safety Council.

In support of law enforcement area businesses will be posting “Click it or Ticket” flyers, signage, advertisements and sticky notes.
