Alexandria Man Could Get 40 Years

A 52-year-old Alexandia man has pleaded guilty to second degree murder in the death of a 51-year-old Todd County woman last May.

Jeffrey Allen Brooks entered the plea in the murder of Diane Fortenberry.  She was found dead in her home near Osakis on May 20th. 

Police say Fortenberry returned home for lunch, finding Brooks in the middle of a burglary.  Autopsy results show she died of blunt force trauma.

Brooks could face up to 40 years in prison.  He is scheduled for sentencing in January.
