Ward Opposes Proposed Constitutional Amendments

State Representative John Ward of Brainerd says there needs to be a spirit of compromise if the legislative session, which began today, is to go smoothly.

The DFL-er told KLKS News he will not support Republican plans to place amendments on the ballot to require a super majority to approve tax increases, photo I.D. at the election polls and right to work initiatives.

Ward says there is no need for the legislature if every controversial issue becomes a referendum for voter approval.
