Brainerd Declares Snow Emergency

Even before the big winter storm hits the area, the City of Brainerd has declared a Snow Emergency.

The plows will hit the streets at 5 a.m. Wednesday on all snow emergency routes, all north-south streets, all streets west of the Mississippi River and all streets south of Willow street.

On Thursday, March 1, plowing will begin at 5 a.m. on all snow emergency routes and all east-west streets.

Snow removal in the Downtown Business District begins at 3 a.m. Thursday.

Parking is banned on streets the day they are scheduled to be plowed, until they have been plowed curb to curb.  All vehicles plowed around will be issued a $25 ticket.  Those not removed within 48 hours will be towed at the owners expense.
