Breezy Point Man Convicted in Hunting Incident

A 53-year-old Breezy Point man has been found guilty of second degree manslaughter in the death of a 64-year-old Florida man during the 2010 deer hunting season.

A Clearwater County jury convicted Kevin McCormick Friday in the death of Tom Benedict.

McCormick was accused of pulling down Benedict's deer stand in November of 2010 causing him broken ribs, a separated shoulder and spinal injuries. He later died of those injuries.

McCormick will be held in the Clearwater County jail until a pre-sentencing hearing April 11th.
