Aitkin Faces River Crest On Thursday
AITKIN, Minn. (AP) — Aitkin Mayor Gary Tibbitts says his city is prepared for the expected crest of the Mississippi River on Thursday. The sewage plant and power transfer station in the small town are protected by sandbags and emergency pumps are ready. The river is expected to crest more than six feet above flood stage.
